    Information

Located in a renovated 19th Century building, in the heart of the city’s historic district, the Barceló Emperatriz is a cosmopolitan and intellectual hotel inspired by the figure of Empress Eugenia de Montijo.

This unique and conceptual hotel retains the look and feel of a 19th Century palace through classic elements that are blended with other more avant-garde features, creating a magnificent and elegant hotel. Its luxurious 146 rooms follow the B-Room concept -Barceló’s highest quality standard-, fully equipped and decorated with avant-garde furniture that contrasts with classic details, such as capitone armchairs.

Thanks to the process of co-creation, with contributions made by future guests, the hotel has incorporated special services such as personalised reception, advice about the most interesting sights in the city, and an à la carte minibar, among others.

The hotel restaurant, Restaurante Mutis, which takes its name from the botanist Celestino Mutis, in a nod to the ‘eco’ nature of its menu, surprises with its spectacular décor based on floral panels that make it an authentic palace garden.
