Galileo Galilei

    Information

Many think of Galileo Galilei as Madrid’s quintessential musical temple. This famous venue, opened in 1985 in what was once a cinema, now has a spacious hall with Greek temple style decor. When it started out, Galileo Galilei was the place to go for quiet drinks and pleasant conversations, mixed in with the occasional live music concert.

The venue has hosted performances by memorable artists such as Los Secretos, Kiko Veneno, Ismael Serrano, El Cigala, El Gran Wyoming, Faemino y Cansado and Juan Tamaríz. Nowadays, there are live performances every night, with music, comedy, magic and film, as every year the venue plays host to the “Gustavito” awards presented by Metrópolis-ce film and theatre school. It also holds book launches, poetry readings and other cultural events.
