Fans of the legendary band Deep Purple will have the opportunity to attend a concert devoted entirely to the classic songs of the British band performed by one of its most charismatic members: Glenn Hughes. This concert goes by the name of Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live and is scheduled for 16 May at La Riviera.

The English bass player and vocalist, known as “The Voice of Rock”, is one of the best known and renowned musicians on the international hard rock and heavy metal scene.  He has been a member of two of the most influential bands ever, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, and has worked with artists and groups of the likes of Whitesnake, Gary Moore or Tommy Bolin, among many others.

Hughes’ last concert with Deep Purple was in March 1976 and many people have been calling for a revival of that period ever since.  Now, more than four decades later, during which time he has not stopped creating in other projects and collaborations, Hughes recalls one of his most brilliant periods as a member of Deep Purple, which he joined in 1973, replacing Roger Glover.

With the perspective of time, Glenn Hughes will run through the albums Burn (1974), Stormbringer (1974) and Come Taste The Band (1975), although there will also be a chance to hear the group’s greatest hits, such as Highway Star or Smoke On The Water, from the outstanding album Machine Head (1972).
