Welcome to Madrid

Close to the Reina Sofia Museum, in Calle Doctor Fourquet, where there are several of the leading art galleries in the city, the Arkhé Archive will open a new branch in Spain from the end of February 2023.  Founded in Bogota (Colombia) in 2016 by Halim Badawe and Pedro Felipe Hinestrosa, the Arkhé Archive is a non-profit institution devoted to the compilation of publications and documents related to Latin American art and it also has a complete queer archive that boasts all types of documents dating back from the middle of the 19th century to the present day.

The Madrid branch of this institution is divided into two spaces: an exhibition hall and a documentation centre, both of which are specialised in modern and contemporary Ibero-American art and LGTBI+ cultural history. 80,000 pieces that address the Latin American LGTBIQ group can be seen there.
