RACE sports complex

Complejo Deportivo Race
    Information

The RACE (Real Automóvil Club de España) sports club is situated on the outskirts of Madrid, on the Burgos road. It was designed by Javier Arana and opened in 1967. It lies in the foothills of Sierra Norte, which boasts beautiful surroundings and a stunning view of Somosierra.

The club offers owner-members other types of sports and leisure activities but golf is by far the most popular form of exercise here. It boasts an 18-hole course, which stages social tournaments at the weekends and another 9-hole course, where golfers practice among watercourses, bunkers and a lake, which make the game a little more challenging.

Members have access to 25 tennis courts (17 astro-turf, 4 hard courts and 4 indoor shale courts); 18 padel courts, all of which are floodlit and 4 are covered; an aquatic complex with 2 heated swimming pools, spa, an Olympic swimming pool and two 25-metre pools; 66,000 m2 for horse riding, divided into 3 ebb/flow arenas, a covered riding arena, 3 sand arenas, a Pony Club and more than 90 boxes; gym with group classes and personal trainer; a football pitch and a hockey pitch.   It is also possible to learn to play these sports as well as artistic roller skating.
