Ibero-American Institute of Finland

Instituto Iberoamericano de Finlandia
    Information

The Ibero-American Institute of Finland was opened in 1996, in cooperation with the Complutense University of Madrid, where it is located. Its main purpose is to promote Finnish culture in the Ibero-American world and to create cultural links between Finland and Spanish-speaking countries.

Until recently, its headquarters was in the Chueca neighbourhood, on the second floor of San Antón Market, where there was also a library and an exhibition hall.  Each year, it organised events like art exhibitions, conferences or concerts, some of which in collaboration with public and private bodies.

The Faculty of Philology is at the Complutense University, in Building D on the ground floor at the Ciudad Universitaria Campus.  From here, the academic exchange between Finnish and Ibero-American researchers and students is promoted, providing information on the possibilities of doing university studies in Finland and studying Finnish in Spain, Portugal and Finland.
