This palace-house, located at Number 2, Plaza del Duque de Alba, between Plaza de la Cebada and Plaza de Tirso de Molina, is a clear example of  architecture of the Enlightenment in Madrid, and has been declared a Building of Cultural Interest. Built in the 18^th century, its façade has become famous after appearing in the television series, The Ministry of Time.

Built on the foundations of the Imperial College of the Company of Jesus, the building was initially used as a school for the children of the servants of Carlos III. Turned into a palace in 1791 by Antonio de Abajo, it was the residence of Manuel Godoy and his wife María Teresa de Borbón y Vallabriga, Duchess of Sweden.

After being used for different purposes during the 19^th and 20^th centuries, it was expropriated by  Madrid City Council in 1998 due to its state of disrepair.  It is currently being refurbished. 

Since 2015, it has enjoyed much popularity as it is the façade of the building that is home to the Ministry of Time, in the TVE television series of the same name, whereby it has become a touristic place of interest for fans of the series.
