    Information

Madrid Otra Mirada (MOM) is an event organised by Madrid City Council’s Department for Culture, Tourism and Sport’s General Division for Cultural Heritage, which seeks to raise awareness of Madrid’s rich and varied cultural heritage. In 2022, its tenth edition was held on 21, 22 and 23 October, opening the doors of 169 heritage sites to residents and visitors, with 214 free activities. In 2023, the event will have an extra day and will be held from Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 October.

Museums, theatres, churches, cemeteries, parks, gardens, libraries, archives, cultural centres, hotels, palaces and other unique buildings will be open to the public, offering guided visits, concerts, conferences, workshops, screenings or children’s activities.

They will all bring the city’s cultural heritage closer to Madrid’s residents and visitors, helping them to see it through the eyes of those who saw it for the first time. MOM represents a unique opportunity to find out more about our history, our heritage and how the institutions around us emerged.

The event’s two main attractions are that it offers the possibility of discovering first hand many emblematic buildings that are usually closed to the public, and that all of the activities are free of charge.
