    Information

The prestigious dancer Daniel Abreu is giving two performances of his latest production at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre on 28 and 29 April: a modern dance piece in which he rolls out a simile with the stages of life.

Accompanied by Mar Rodríguez in the directing and by Abián Hernández, Diego Pazo, Mauricio Pérez, Daniel Rodríguez and David Vilarinyo on stage, Abreu presents a series of allegories in which different concepts are overturned through dance: change, moving from childhood to adulthood, human transition or the idea of the lifecycle.  This production is inspired by and named after the letter dalet from the Hebrew alphabet, which also represents the number four and means door.

Daniel Abreu is a dancer specialised in classical ballet and contemporary dance, born in 1976 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. During his career, he has won the National Dance Prize 2014 in the Creation category, the Prize for Best Director at the Santander INDIFESTIVAL 2010 or the Jury’s Award for Best Choreography at the 18th Choreographic Contest of Madrid 2015.

In 2018, he won the Max Award for Best Choreography, Best Dance Performance and Best Male Dancer for La Desnudez, and in 2019, Abisal received the Replica Award for Best Dance Performance, Best Soundtrack and Best Costume Design went to Leo Martínez. He has also worked with diverse groups, such as the Nomadas Company, 10 & 10 Danza, Titoyaya Project or Teatre Tanca Zawirowania.
